Apollo 7 command module on display at the Frontiers Of Flight Museum in Dallas, Texas. Apollo 7 was on display in Ottawa, Canada for 30 years until it was recently recalled by the Smithsonian. The Smithsonian had planned to display Apollo 7 at the new Udvar-Hazy complex in Virginia, but for now, the spacecraft is on display in Texas.

Apollo 7 was the first manned space flight following the tragic fire that killed the Apollo 1 crew. It was a shakedown flight to prove that the redesigned command module was flight ready. Despite the flight having been nearly flawless, the three astronauts all developed colds during the flight. Mission control felt that the crew had developed attitudes during the flight, and as a result, none of the three were selected for future space missions.
