The photos above are views from below and to the side of the bridge. Notice the location of the rail bridge in each view. The next 3 photos are crossing the bridge heading north.

The above 3 photos are a crossing headed northbound. Notice a VMS (variable message sign) at the bottom of the bridge. It warns traffic to not stop. A State Patrol car is sitting in front of the sign. I don't know why they put this sign in place. This area was under water, and it may be due to soft shoulders, concern over people damaging the levee, or possibly to protect against looting.

The remaining 5 photos show a southbound crossing of the Lewis Bridge. Notice in the photo below that flood water is still on the roadway in places. The southbound lanes are on top of the levee, but the northbound lanes more closely follow the contour of the land.
