This bridge is located on a state forest access road in the very north west corner of Hubbard County. It is the only bridge over the Mississippi River in Hubbard County. The bridge itself is made out of wood timbers and round wood piles. The gravel road surface continues across the one lane structure.

This bridge is located several miles from the nearest paved highway. I visited in spring and found the road to be soft in places, but my light pickup was able to make it through. A car might have had some problems with the ruts. By summer, after the road has time to firm up, cars should be able to make it into this area with no problems.

Of all the bridges over the great river that are open to public vehicle traffic, this one has to be the bridge least traveled. The traffic count from 1993 is 8 vehicles a day on average. There are several other bridges in the headwaters area with traffic counts less than 1,000, but only one other that has a traffic count of less than 100 (the Third River Bridge with a traffic count of 70). Nevertheless, this is a scenic area and worth seeking out.
