From the highway, one cannot even tell that there is a bridge located here, let alone a bridge across the Mississippi River. From river level, however, this turns out to be a very interesting structure. It is a cast in place concrete barrel arch that forms a large culvert. It is a perfect fit for this location. This culvert replaced a 1925 steel beam bridge.
