B-29

KB-29M on display at the South Dakota Air And Space Museum on the grounds of Ellsworth Air Force Base near Rapid City, South Dakota. This aircraft is another of the B-29s that were sent to China Lake in 1956. It was rescued in the late 1980's and restored to static display status in the early 1990's. The bright South Dakota sun and the polished aluminum skin conspire to make it difficult to get a good photo of this Superfort.

Note that this is a relatively late model B-29. Compare the window arrangement in the nose against an early B-29, and then compare both to the B-50.
